Language

The official language is Arabic.  English is widely spoken and understood and is a main language of commerce alongside Arabic.

Religion

Islam is the official religion of the UAE.  Other religions are respected and followers are allowed to practice their faith.

Weights & Measures

The metric system is followed but British and American standard weights and measures are generally understood.

Time

UAE is four hours ahead of GMT.
